Digital Learning Day Celebrated – Teen Tech Week
Teen Tech Week was scheduled on the same week as our Mardi Gras break this year, so with the help of Mrs. Burton, we decided to celebrate all things tech via the Digital Learning Day (February 28, 2019) a little early on February 25, 2019. Mrs. Burton’s Technology Honors students demonstrated and taught interested students how to use virtual cubes with I-PADS and Digital Robots.
The student tutors included Mr. Michael Harris, Mr. Keshaun Briscoe, Ms. Trinity Johnson and Mr. Bryan Allen. The tutors were very patient with the students as they showed their enthusiasm for digital learning.
Louisiana Teen Readers’ Choice Voting Party
On March 1, 2019, there was a pizza/voting party for students who participated in the Louisiana Teen Readers’ Choice campaign this year. While we await the results of this year’s statewide voting, students liked the book “Aging Out” by Alton Carter.
Library Survey’s Drawing Winner
A library services needs survey was conducted. Everyone who participated offered their opinions and advice to better improve Library Media Services and West Jefferson High School. Thanks to all teachers who participated. Congratulations Dr. Barbara Green. She completed the survey and won a basket full of teacher goodies to enjoy!
