Tyruss Gayden’s hard work and determination has paid off. This young man has proven himself on and off the field. On May 7,2019 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame held its 2019 Awards Luncheon, Tyruss was not only honored as a student-athlete, but he earned a 20,000 Scholarship from the Allstate Sugar Bowl Foundation.
Tyruss was one out of four student-athletes to receive a $20,000 Allstate Sugar Bowl Scholarship from among 29 other student honorees who submitted essays after being named as honorees. In Tyruss’s essay, he chronicled the adversities that he had to overcome including the tragic loss of his father in an automobile accident. In spite of it all, he persevered and excelled in athletics, academics, and volunteered his time doing community service for the youth in his community.
Tyruss exemplifies what is meant by Buc Pride. Congratulations, Tyruss Gayden, recipient of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation’s Student Athlete Scholarship.
