This year’s Teen Read Week’s theme was “Unleash Your Story”. The students of West Jefferson High School were encouraged to visit the school’s library and explore all that there was to offer from October 9th-October 13th.
Teen Read Week began with a Drop Everything and Read Campaign where teachers and members of the West Jefferson‘s Book club gave redeemable prize tickets to students who were “caught” reading. Students have the entire month of October to redeem the tickets for a small prize from the library.
On Tuesday, students did a scavenger hunt that gave them the opportunity to explore the library.

The Jefferson Parish Public Library’s West Bank Regional Teen Library came by on Wednesday to share some horror and spooky themed titles with the students as students enjoyed pizzas, snacks and drinks.

Thursday was arts and crafts day. There is a new space with intricate color sheets, dot to dot puzzles and the like for students to sit back, relax, and enjoy as they visit the library.
The week culminated on Friday with book trailers that highlighted this year’s Louisiana Teen Readers’ Choice books. As always, students were enthusiastic and really enjoyed Teen Read Week @ West Jeff’s Library.
