Mrs. Vanessa Brown-Lewis has been named the Jefferson Parish School System’s high School Principal of the Year. The West Jefferson High School family was elated and proud as they celebrated on January 17, 2019 with a surprise visit from JPPSS administration to announce her most-deserved honor. The faculty, staff and students of West Jefferson High School as well as her husband, Michael Lewis, her mother, Carolyn Brown, and family and friends participated in a rousing celebration punctuated by performances from the school’s marching band and performance teams.
This celebration comes as a result of the selfless and relentless efforts of Mrs. Brown-Lewis and her staff to educate every child with a no-excuses mindset in regards to achievement. Mrs. Brown- Lewis leads by example. She strives for excellence and expects nothing less from her students. Her 28 years of dedication to education is a testament to her love for the students whose lives she has touched.
